About the job
- Our company is seeking a diligent and highly analytical QA Game Tester to join our team. If you enjoy meticulously attempting to break game builds, pinpointing and documenting issues, and writing immaculate and reproducible bug reports, this is the job for you!
- You will play an integral part around the launch of unannounced offbrand games projects, with potential opportunities for additional work post-launch and around future titles we publish.
- offbrand is a small company, and you may be expected to be able to help out with a variety of other responsibilities outside of those detailed below.
Responsibilities
- Playtest builds of games repeatedly, diving deep into mechanics and game balance
- Triage bug reports submitted by alpha/beta testers and playtesters
- Coordinate with Lead QA and developers to ensure legitimate bugs are resolved
- Verify tech, performance, and usability of builds across various hardware & platforms
- Document bugs, crashes, glitches, & other issues with clear steps to reproduce
- Provide monthly reports on the health of core game systems and features
Requirements
- Veteran QA game tester with credits on multiple shipped titles
- Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Highly versatile, able to multitask in a busy environment
- Flexible hours with ability to scale up for major beats & be part-time for slower periods
Bonus points
- Extensive experience playing and testing roguelite/roguelikes
- Genuine passion for video games
- Experience with Codecks, Unity bug reporting, Tickets.XYZ tool, Discord, & Google Suite (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, etc)
- Experience working in an Indie Game development environment
